What is Vineforce Teams Lite?

Vineforce Teams Lite is a background activity tracking application designed for silent deployment. Unlike the full desktop client, it runs entirely in the background without a user interface or main application window, meaning it never interrupts the employee's work.

It captures work metrics, including time logged on active applications, window titles, and screenshots, and syncs them automatically with the web portal.

How does the background tracking work?

Once installed, Vineforce Teams Lite behaves in the following manner:

  1. Automatic Launch: Starts immediately when the user logs in to their computer.
  2. Telemetry Capture: Records user activity, active window headers, and screenshots according to the interval settings configured in the admin panel.
  3. Synchronization: Syncs captured activity logs to the Vineforce Teams database in real time.
  4. Idle Detection: Automatically pauses tracking when no keyboard or mouse activity is detected for the duration specified in the settings.

Which platforms are supported?

Vineforce Teams Lite is available for the following operating systems:

  • Windows: Supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2016+ systems using an automated batch file script.
  • Linux: Supports major Linux distributions running GNOME workspaces using a terminal shell script.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I map a user to their machine logs?

If logs synced from a computer show up on the Unassigned Logs dashboard, the administrator must map the machine hostname or UUID to the active employee profile in the admin portal. Once mapped, subsequent logs will automatically route to that user's timeline.

How do I configure tracking intervals?

You can configure tracking frequencies and screenshot quality in the admin panel under Administration → Settings → Tracker Settings.
