Install Vineforce Teams Lite on Windows (Silent Mode)​

Windows 10 / 11  |  Windows Server 2016+

Vineforce Teams Lite is a background activity tracking application designed for silent deployment. It runs without interrupting the user's workflow and automatically records activity in the background.

This guide walks you through the manual installation — download the package, run the installer, enter your authentication token, and verify the app is running.

Prerequisites​

Step 1: Download the Installer​

Download the latest Vineforce Teams Lite installer package:

Save the ZIP file to a convenient location on your machine (e.g., your Downloads folder).

Step 2: Extract the Installation Package​

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file in File Explorer
  2. Right-click the file
  3. Select Extract All…
  4. Choose a destination folder and click Extract

The extracted folder will contain the setup.exe installer.

Step 3: Run the Installer as Administrator​

  1. Open the extracted folder
  2. Right-click setup.exe
  3. Select Run as Administrator

Running as Administrator ensures the application installs correctly for all users on the machine.

If Windows SmartScreen Appears​

Windows may display: "Windows protected your PC"

  1. Click More info

The installer will open. Click Next to begin.

Step 4: Select the Installation Directory​

  1. Choose the folder where Vineforce Teams Lite should be installed
  2. Click Next to continue

The default directory works for most installations. Only change it if your organization requires software in a specific location.

Step 5: Enter the Authentication Token​

During installation, you will be prompted to enter an Authentication Token.

  1. Paste your company token into the field
  2. Click Next

:::info Where do I get my token? Contact your Vineforce Teams administrator. The token links the desktop app to your company's Vineforce Teams environment and is unique per organization. :::

Step 6: Confirm and Complete the Installation​

  1. Review the installation summary
  2. Click Next to start the installation

The installer will copy files and configure the application. Once finished:

  1. Click Close to exit the installer

Vineforce Teams Lite is now installed on your system.

Step 7: Start the Application​

Vineforce Teams Lite runs as a background service — you only need to launch it once manually.

  1. Find Vineforce Teams Lite on your desktop or in the Start menu
  2. Double-click to launch it

After the first launch, it will automatically start in the background on every system login — no further action required.

Step 8: Verify the Installation​

Confirm the application is running correctly.

Check the Background Process​

  1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
  2. Go to the Background processes section (or the Details tab)
  3. Look for Vineforce Teams Lite

If the process appears, the application is installed successfully and tracking in the background.

Allow the App in Antivirus (If Blocked)​

If your antivirus flags the application:

  1. Open your antivirus software
  2. Navigate to Trusted Applications or Allowed Applications
  3. Add Vineforce Teams Lite to the allowlist

This prevents the antivirus from blocking activity tracking.

Troubleshooting​

ProblemSolution
Installer won't openRight-click setup.exe and select Run as Administrator. Do not double-click directly.
SmartScreen blocks installClick More info → Run anyway. The app is safe — SmartScreen warns about unsigned or new installers.
Token field not acceptedEnsure there are no extra spaces before or after the token. Copy it directly from the email or admin portal.
App not in Task ManagerLaunch Vineforce Teams Lite manually from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
Antivirus removes the appAdd C:\Program Files (x86)\Vineforce\Vineforce Teams Lite\ to your antivirus exclusions, then reinstall.
App doesn't start on loginRestart the machine. If it still doesn't auto-start, re-run the installer or use the PowerShell script which sets up a Scheduled Task.

  • Always run the installer as Administrator
  • Add Vineforce Teams Lite to your antivirus exclusions before installing to avoid interference
  • Verify the background process in Task Manager after installation
  • If deploying to multiple machines, use the PowerShell automated script instead
